WASHINGTON COUNTY, UT – The Healthy Dixie Council has selected Patrice Hunt as the recipient of the Healthy Dixie Recognition for September, 2010. Patrice started the Santa Clara Community garden in 2008. It is a community-wide effort to work together to meet individual needs. You can visit the Santa Clara Community Garden Blog.

 

Patrice was recognized at the Santa Clara city Council meeting on September 8, 2010.

 

"Patrice was instrumental in the development and operations of the Santa Clara Community Garden", says Locke Ettinger who nominated Patrice for the award. "Her vision to use the garden to bring community members together, support local needs and provide an opportunity for kids to participate and learn has made the garden something extraordinary."

 

"The Healthy Dixie Award is an opportunity to recognize people or organizations who are taking action to improve the health of our community", explains Jane Lambert, the Council president. "The Healthy Dixie Council wants to thank them for their contribution."

Healthy Dixie is a local coalition of citizens, businesses, city governments, the school district, and health entities working together to promote health and wellness.
