1. Follow the DASH Diet plan

2. Buy fresh, plain frozen or canned “with no salt added” vegetables

3. Use salt-free seasoning blends

4. Cut back on packaged foods such as frozen dinners, pizza, canned soups or broths, and salad dressings

5. Rinse salt from canned foods
